Teeth Whitening Procedure
- On booking, a £25 deposit is required to hold the appointment. This is transferable with 24 hours notice. It will have been determined before your booking as to whether you have seen a dentist in the last 6 months and so confirm there is no gum disease and therefore suitable for Teeth Whitening. Following consultation, examination and consent, you are given the shade colour of your teeth using an official VITA Tooth Shade Guide. Realistic expectations are then given as to the shade expected post treatment.
- The teeth and mouth are then prepared for treatment, by placing a comfortable cheek retractor into your mouth to hold your lips and tongue away from your teeth. We then apply a protective light reactive barrier to the gums which protects the gum throughout the treatment.
- Our specially formulated whitening gel is carefully applied to the teeth and then activated by our advanced blue light for three sessions of between 12 and 15 minutes. This special non-harmful halogen light accelerates the whitening process causing no damage to the skin, gums and other soft tissues. The blue light emits consistently regulated very low but intense amounts of light ensuring natural and uniformed results.
- At the end of the treatment the teeth will be assessed again with the VITA Tooth Shade Guide to determine the increase in whiteness.
- There is little or no sensitivity to each patient but it should be remembered that this is a cosmetic procedure and should any small amount of sensitivity be felt post treatment then it should wear off within 36 hours with or without normal painkillers.
